10 Guidelines on How to Buy a Horse

Tuesday Oct 27, 2009

Purchasing a pony involves a long term commitment that you must understand totally. Before you get a pony, confirm you did your research about owning and taking care of a horse. Make sure that you have prepared enough room for your pony to move around. You must also be extremely sure of what kind of pony you would like to purchase.

Before you buy a horse, here are some suggestions that will help you.

1. Don’t be influenced, tempted or pressured by anybody in buying a horse.

Do not jump into buying a pony because there’s no reason to. Take your time looking for the right one. It will certainly help you to decide whether or not to buy the horse.

2. To keep it open don’t debate your financial position in front of the seller so he/she will not know of it.

3. If you are buying a pony for your child, it is important that you talk to your child first. Debate about the importance of not showing excitement or interest in the pony to the vendor.

4. Tell your seller you value your instructor’s opinion so the level of pressure exerted on you is reduced.

You could have to prepare money for your instructor’s time and expertise.

6. Consider the current conditions, the time the pony has been for sale and the vendor’s private fiscal circumstances when estimating sales price. Maybe you can also include how much the vendor loves you and thinks you will offer a good home for their pony.

7. Ask for concessions if your seller does not negotiate. You can request a free tack or free pony delivery for concession. These are examples of industry standard practices which may not insult the seller.

8. Sometimes , buyers have to prepare money for sales commissions. Sales commissions, which run from 10% to twenty p.c., are very typical in transactions such as this.

9. Before you buy the pony, have it checked by an independent 3rd party veterinarian so you can know how healthy the pony is. If possible, attend the vet check yourself and know the findings. Then decide whether or not to buy the horse.

10. Finally, have a written contract of the purchase.

HORSE RIDING GAMES -Building Up Motivation

Tuesday Oct 27, 2009

Pony riding horses games Guide Amazon.com’;return true;” onmouseout=”self.status=””>games are extraordinarily helpful tools in helping student riders learn more by building up motivation. As with the other types of learning, games foster play, which increases incentive. Incentive supports the learning process by providing incentive. Incentive encourages students to engage in the act of gaining knowledge.

This essentially means the more students are having a great time with the lessons the more they gain knowledge. Pony riding lessons may also be incorporated with horse riding games.

The following are examples of horse riding games.

Musical Horses

However, instead of chairs, ground poles are used. The ground poles will be placed parallel to one another, about 8 feet apart. This will look like a “parking lot” for horses.

Step 1.

Step two. When the music stops, the riders will go to one of the ground pole parking lots while continuously walking or trotting or cantering, etc.

The amount of ground pole parking lots will be equal to the quantity of riders, so one pole will be taken away before the game starts again. By taking one ground pole, the number of ground pole parking lots will be one less than the quantity of riders. The last person to be on the the last ground pole car park will win.

This game is played by older riders who can mount from the ground and tiny riders with mounting blocks, who will be coupled with the older riders. Commands are asked of the older riders on the rail.

When the instructor says “halt”, the older rider will stop on the rail. They can dismount while the young riders run from the center to their partners. The older riders will get the tiny riders on safely and then the younger riders will race back to the mounting block.

The younger riders will then start their riding commands. When the instructor says “halt”, the older riders will run to the younger riders who will be dismounting. The older riders will mount, while the younger riders will run back to the mounting block.

The game will continue till only 1 team is left.

In horse riding games, riders are engaged in artificial conflicts that are designed by rules. Pony riding games also promotes interaction between riders.

Elvis Presley and the Stanley Brothers

Tuesday Oct 27, 2009

Let me tell you about my brother

A brother like no other

His father married my mother

But he’s more than a brother

Wherever I go

The people keep asking me

What’s it like to be the brother

Of a Celebrity……

By Billy Stanley

Billy, Rick and David grew very close to Elvis.
Elvis wasn’t only their big brother, he became a role model the boys admired and loved.

When Rick was in first grade of school, he remembers his first time autograph. Rick was feeling pretty sure of himself this day, as he approached some of the seventh grade girls asking them if they wanted his autograph. Sure enough being Elvis’ little brother they weren’t about to say no, so Rick took out his crayon and started signing, just like his big brother.

Being apart of Elvis’ world for the Stanley brothers was fun, exhilarating and at times frightening when they found themselves suddenly thrust into Elvis Presley’s golden aura. In the years to follow, it became more evident to the boys the powerful effect Elvis Presley’s presents had on the world.

To Billy, Rick and David, Elvis was just a guy that they loved. But as the boys would soon learn through experiences watching the rest of the world going crazy over their stepbrother, Elvis was more than just a guy they loved.

The Stanley boys new experience being stepbrothers to the King of Rock and Roll wasn’t always fun and games, it could get serious very quickly.

Dee Presley’s concerns about the effects of Elvis’ wealth and fame on her boys were always a high priority. As the years went by, Dee would have the boys involved in Sunday schools, summer camps, swimming pools, and a controlled group of screened friends.

Dee would offer to her boys the more conventional life in respect of the unconventional circumstances. Billy remembers, it being a fairly strict life.

Vernon would make sure the boys understood some rules with being apart of his sons world, having them aware of the situation as Elvis’ stepbrothers. The boys are about to learn their first rule.

LESSON ONE: Never, under any circumstances, reveal anything concerning Elvis to the public or the press. This was the Golden rule, the boys always respected this rule.
Billy, Rick and David all grew up very security minded and tight lipped with any conversation outside the walls of Graceland.

The boys always looked forward to Elvis’ return to Graceland. Naturally, the feeling was mutual, Elvis also looked forward to being home with his stepbrothers, but there were occasions where the age difference would effect Elvis and he simply didn’t want his stepbrothers around.

Billy, Rick and David learned how to be aware of these occasions, giving Elvis his space and respecting his privacy, even though the boys longed to be in their big brothers company.

But Elvis would spend valuable time with his brothers; he would go all out when he had his brothers on board. Offering his brothers endless hours of fun excitement and adventure.
When they all got together, Elvis ran the boys ragged involving them in a range of activities.

There were times they would all be off to Memphis at midnight in his fleet of cars, and times involving country side all night horse rides. Other occasions involved all night movies, when Elvis rented the movie theater from Paul Shafer.

There was a range of exciting experiences for the boys, go-cart racing, and touring around on Elvis’ motor bikes at exhilarating speeds. When the boys were bigger, they would be included in Elvis’ football games.

Ricky remembers, they would always team up against Elvis, and Elvis being the speedy sure handed flanker, he would knock the boys flying at full strength. Elvis being both big brother and father figure to the boys, the boys would turn to Elvis for advice.

Elvis was always happy to offer when any of his brothers reached for it, Elvis wasn’t one to tell them what to do; he would give his opinion on the matter, leaving it completely in the hands of the one involved to work it out.

Gallop Racer 2003: A New Breed PlayStation 2

Monday Oct 26, 2009

Gallop Racer 2003: A New Breed PlayStation 2
Returning for a second lap on the PlayStation 2, Gallop Racer 2003: A New Breed once again challenges players to take the reins of horse stable management. A mandatory tutorial walks players through the various aspects of this equestrian-themed sports game, of which the actual races are but one aspect of play. The race itself is composed of three segments, each offering a slightly different gameplay mechanic and requiring a different strategy. In order to break from the starting gate as quickly as possible, players need to be successful with a series of carefully timed button presses. The middle portion of the race requires jockeys to ease into the position in the pack that best suits the horse’s unique temperament and sensibilities. Failure to do so will drain the horse’s stamina quickly. The final segment of the race requires measured use of the whip in order to spur the horse on, as excessive whipping will cause speed to drop significantly.

Away from the track, players will need to engage in the day-to-day activities of scheduling new race meetings, purchasing new horses, breeding new champions (young foals take on the combined attributes of both parents), and placing a wagers on the outcome of upcoming events. Although the title offers over 2,500 horses, players are encouraged to breed new champions, and are assisted in doing so by a series of mini-games that affect the final statistics of the newborn. The jockey, too, can improve as the season endures. In a departure from Tecmo’s previous effort, Gallop Racer 2003 allows gambling during the actual season, however this revised system only allows players to bet on their own horses. Winnings can be used to purchase new equipment and facilities, or put toward the acquisition of new horses. ~ Gavin Frankle, All Game Guide
